We have kept that promise. <br><strong>In fact,<\/strong> the first projects have already been completed. In this blog, we\u2019d like to share our initial insights and results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-07579d57 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Route Lab?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Route Lab, you can predict in advance which routes navigation systems will recommend based on planned traffic restrictions. Suppose you close a road and have planned a detour. In that case, you want to be sure that navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze actually recommend this route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In practice, we often find that navigation systems choose alternative (undesirable) routes, which leads to additional cut-through traffic in residential areas. With Route Lab, you can view these route recommendations in advance. This allows you to make timely adjustments and take action before any disruptions occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>D<strong>ata sources<\/strong><\/strong><br>For our analyses, we use four data sources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Waze historical data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TomTom route engine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google Maps route engine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific project data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We combine these data sources with our own algorithm. Per project<\/strong>:<br>Particularly suitable for government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You submit traffic control measures via a traffic control plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We process this data in our Traffic Reportal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measures are simulated directly for navigation systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We analyze routes based on origin and destination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive a report containing insights and recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. <strong>As a license<\/strong><\/strong>:<br>Primarily used by contractors, traffic engineering firms, and consultants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Direct access to the tooling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform analyses and iterate on your own<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adjust scenarios and recalculate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combine this with a Traffic Portal license to easily incorporate these measures into your analyses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-07579d57 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the initial results?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initial results clearly show that Route Lab works and, above all, provides valuable insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Province<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>of Gelderland<\/strong><br>The image below shows the recommended routes from the center of Zutphen toward Deventer. Thanks to this information, the province of Gelderland knew what to expect in terms of cut-through traffic. At this time, we are not yet able to perform an analysis for projects where road capacity is reduced.
