Sometimes a graduation question leads to a valuable collaboration that delivers direct results for everyone involved. That was the case with Fabiënne Waaijenberg, a Logistics Engineering student, who wanted to create an Excel dashboard for her graduation project at De Event Farm—one that would offer similar insights to those found on Wegstatus.nl.
Her goal? To build an overview where traffic flows and visitor numbers during events could be linked to real-time traffic data. She asked us if it would be possible to export data and visuals from our dashboard for personal use. Naturally, we were happy to think along.
Rather than simply exporting data, we decided to go a step further: we provided our Event Traffic Dashboard free of charge for 538 Koningsdag in Breda. This allowed Fabiënne to validate her own data against live traffic information. The result? Valuable insights and confirmation of her analyses:
“TripService’s Event Traffic Dashboard helped us validate the accuracy of our visitor numbers and flow data. We could see that the peaks in incoming visitors matched the traffic density at parking areas. This extra data confirmed our collected insights and offers valuable input for future events.”

For us, this is a perfect example of how open collaboration and practical tools can support both students and event organizers. We’re glad we could contribute to a successful graduation project—and to the further professionalization of event traffic management.
