Period: 28 March to 2 October 2025
Client: BAM
Ahead of the works at the Trekvliet Bridge, TripService supported BAM and the Municipality of The Hague with a targeted Online Traffic Management approach. From late March through early October, we ensured that road users were informed clearly and in good time about closures and diversions.
By combining online campaigns with real-time traffic information in navigation apps, we achieved a total reach of 2.9 million impressions. Closures and changes were published directly in platforms such as Waze and Google Maps, allowing road users to receive up-to-date information during their journey. This ensured that both frequent and occasional travellers received the right message at the right moment.

To gain insight into the use of the Trekvliet Bridge and the effectiveness of the communication, a survey was conducted among road users. The results showed that more than 80% use the bridge several days a week, often four days or more. In addition, 66% indicated that they were informed in advance through various channels, including navigation apps, social media, roadside signage and printed media. Many road users adjusted their travel behaviour, for example by deliberately choosing an alternative route. A clear sign that good information helps reduce risks and disruption.
This project shows how combining reach, real-time data and practical insights contributes to well-prepared execution of large-scale works. By creating one coherent view of the traffic situation, road authorities and project partners are better able to support road users and improve safety on the road.
