The Johan Cruijff ArenA and TripService have been working together for several years in the field of digital traffic management at events. The Johan Cruijff ArenA expressed the desire to better respond to the customer journey of its visitors — after all, an event begins the moment someone considers buying a ticket. Additionally, there was a need to make better decisions regarding the inflow and outflow of travelers based on data.

To meet the Johan Cruijff ArenA’s request, we implemented the Mobility Portal and the Event Traffic Dashboard. The Mobility Portal is a multimodal trip planner that provides each event visitor with personalized travel advice. We integrated the Mobility Portal as a white-label solution on the Johan Cruijff ArenA website. Through this portal, the ArenA gains insight into expected visitor flows and retains control over how visitors travel to the event.

The Event Traffic Dashboard is used to monitor event-related traffic flows in real time. During operations, this dashboard is used alongside camera feeds to take timely action when needed. Additionally, we visualize the data generated by the Mobility Portal — for example, it becomes clear which parking areas are expected to be busy. All data is also stored in a historical dashboard, enabling post-event evaluation and continuous improvement.
